What is MAPLE?

MAPLE is a powerful interactive computer algebra system that provides a complete mathematical environment for the manipulation of symbolic algebraic expressions, arbitrary-precision numerics, both tow-dimensional and three-dimensional graphics, and programming.

Starting MAPLE

To run MAPLE on a UNIX system, type maple prompt. To quit MAPLE at any time,type quit at the MAPLE prompt. You can use the following command to run a maple program:

maple -q <program> program.out
